To improve the health of the population, a consortium formed by leading Georgian business group, TBC Holding, Conti International and the Davit Tvildiani Medical University is developing an American Quality Hospital in Tbilisi for the Republic of Georgia and the Greater Caucasus Region.
As project developer, Conti has been intricately involved in building a business case for the project, which includes creating the vision for the hospital, a financial model for hospital operations and preliminary design and architectural layout. The hospital will be focused on providing surgery and oncology, as these forms of care are not widely available in Georgia.
Design and construction are expected to take two years and will include site location and selection, programming and space planning, equipment planning, site plan, detailed design and construction services.
The facility will adopt the highest standards and provide JCAO Internationally Accredited Healthcare, a level of service not available in this geography. It will have a total of 80 beds and serve the growing medical tourism market, leveraging its location adjacent to the Tbilisi International Airport. Georgian doctors licensed in the United States will be invited to work at the hospital, which intends to become a teaching institution by joining with a world class medical university and teaming with a strategic operating partner to ensure it functions on par with its Western counterparts.
