Conti is serving as the Program Manager, Design Engineer and Constructor to build Anaklia Port in the Republic of Georgia. Working for the Anaklia Development Consortium, Conti provided early planning services to include technical feasibility, conceptual design, project budgeting and preliminary environmental studies required for project financing. The team is currently performing the environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA) and completing the detailed design for this design-build project.
The Anaklia Port will be a vibrant state-of-the-art, eco-friendly facility with a highly efficient layout and an ability to accept very large vessels.
The port is being developed by the Anaklia Development Consortium in 9 phases over a 49-year concession. The 1,000 hectares will be master planned for a regional logistics center and a Free Industrial Zone (FIZ) to establish the city of Anaklia as a major integration point on the New Silk Road for Asia-Europe trade and commerce, with heavy involvement from China.
Conti received BUILD’s 2015 international award for Outstanding Conceptual Design of the Anaklia Port, working with its teaming partner, Moffatt & Nichol.
