This Design-Build project involves the reconstruction of the Lexington Avenue mezzanine and replacement of the existing escalators for the Flushing Line at the Grand Central 42nd Street Station for the MTA. Work consists of demolition, and new construction of concrete slab infills, concrete and masonry wall construction, structural steel, metal ceilings, new AFC railings and gates with glass balustrade, stainless steel mesh guardrails and handrails, granite floor tile and column covers, wall tile, painting, new escalators and escalator cladding, new dashboards, and ticket booth upgrades. MEP upgrades will consist of power and lighting upgrades, CCTV, communication, and FA system upgrades, sprinkler, plumbing drainage, and HVAC work. Specialty work will consist of concrete rehabilitation, waterproofing, ventilator shaft repairs, concrete sidewalk replacement, and other trades typically associated with this type of work.
